Family plan

How does the Dankore Vault Family plan work?

Up to 6 people each get their own private vault, plus one shared folder. The payer adds and removes people on the Family page.

The Family plan is $10 a month, plus taxes where they apply. It covers up to 6 people, including the person who pays.

What each person gets

  • Their own private vault, with every feature.
  • Their own master password, which only they know.
  • Access to one shared folder called "Family shared".

The person who pays cannot see anyone else's private vault. Neither can Dankore. Only items moved into "Family shared" are seen by everyone in the family.

Family members do not need their own account on our website. They only need the free Bitwarden app and their master password.

Add a person

Only the payer can do this.

  1. Go to https://vault.dankore.com and sign in.
  2. Open the Family page.
  3. Type the person's name and email address.
  4. Press the button to add them.

We email them an invitation called "Join Sam's family", with your name in it. They press Join and choose their own master password. Then they set up the app, just like on the iPhone or Android guides.

If they cannot find the email, see the invitation email did not arrive.

Remove a person

  1. Open the Family page.
  2. Find the person and press the button to remove them.
  3. Confirm.

When you remove someone, the "Family shared" folder is taken away from them at once. Their own private vault stays open for 30 days, so they can save a copy. After that, it is deleted. Until then, they still count as one of the 6 people.

Anything they saw in the shared folder may still be on their phone or computer. If you do not want them to keep a shared password, change that password.

If the person is moving out or wants to leave, let them know first. Then they can save a copy of their passwords in time.

An honest note about the shared folder

To add family members for you automatically, our system holds the key to the "Family shared" folder. Your private vaults are different: only each person can open their own.

So please keep your most private items in your own vault, not in the shared folder. Use "Family shared" for things the whole household needs, like the Wi-Fi or streaming passwords.

Each person should write their own master password on their own emergency kit. We cannot reset it for anyone, and neither can the payer.
