How do I use Dankore Vault on my computer?
Open your vault in any web browser, or add the free Bitwarden extension to Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari so it fills in passwords for you.
There are two easy ways to use your vault on a Windows computer, a Mac or a Linux computer. You can use both.
- The web vault: your vault in a normal browser window. Nothing to install.
- The browser extension: a small add-on that fills in passwords on websites for you.
There is also a free Bitwarden desktop app for Windows, Mac and Linux. It works the same way. All of these are made by Bitwarden, Inc. We are not part of Bitwarden.
Open the web vault
- Open your web browser.
- Type https://secure-vault.dankore.com in the address bar at the top and press Enter.
- Type the email address your invitation was sent to.
- Type your master password and sign in.
This address already points to our server, so you do not need to change any settings here.
The web vault is the best place for bigger jobs, like moving your passwords in from your browser or setting up a trusted person.
Add the browser extension
- In your browser, open its add-on store. For Chrome, that is the Chrome Web Store. For Edge, Firefox and Safari, search for "add-ons" or "extensions" in the browser menu.
- Search for Bitwarden Password Manager.
- Check that it is made by Bitwarden Inc.
- Click the button to add it, such as Add to Chrome.
- Click the small puzzle piece near the top right and pin Bitwarden, so its shield icon is always visible.
Point the extension at our server
- Click the Bitwarden shield icon.
- Look for words like "Logging in on: bitwarden.com" and click them.
- Choose Self-hosted.
- In the Server URL box, type https://secure-vault.dankore.com exactly.
- Click Save.
- Type your vault email, then your master password, and sign in.
Check the address carefully. One wrong letter means the extension cannot find your vault.
Which password is which?
Your master password opens your vault, in the extension or the web vault. Your account password is only for our website, https://vault.dankore.com, where you manage billing and settings.
