How do I move my passwords from Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox into my vault?

Save your browser's passwords to a file, bring that file into your vault with Import data, then delete the file. Best done on a computer.

If your browser already remembers your passwords, you can move them all into your vault at once. This is best done on a computer.

There are three parts. Save your passwords to a file. Bring the file into your vault. Then delete the file.

The file your browser makes is not locked. Anyone who opens it can read your passwords. Please delete it as soon as you finish.

Part 1: Save your passwords from the browser

Follow the steps for the browser you use.

Chrome

  1. Click the three dots at the top right, then Passwords and autofill, then Google Password Manager.
  2. Click Settings on the left.
  3. Click Download file next to Export passwords, and confirm.

Edge

  1. Click the three dots at the top right, then Settings, then Passwords.
  2. Click the three dots next to Saved passwords.
  3. Click Export passwords and confirm.

Firefox

  1. Click the three lines at the top right, then Passwords.
  2. Click the three dots at the top right of that page.
  3. Click Export passwords and confirm.

Safari on a Mac

  1. On a newer Mac, open the Passwords app. Click File in the menu bar, then Export All Passwords.
  2. On an older Mac, open Safari. Click File in the menu bar, then Export, then Passwords.
  3. Save the file to your Desktop.

The menu names change from time to time. If you cannot find them, search your browser's help for "export passwords".

Part 2: Bring the file into your vault

  1. Open https://secure-vault.dankore.com in your browser and sign in with your master password.
  2. Look for Import data. It is usually under Tools.
  3. In the format list, choose the browser the file came from, for example Chrome (csv).
  4. Choose the file you saved in Part 1.
  5. Click Import data.

Your passwords now appear in your vault, on every device.

Part 3: Delete the file

  1. Find the file on your Desktop or in Downloads.
  2. Delete it.
  3. Empty the Trash or Recycle Bin.

Once everything is in your vault, turn off your browser's own password saving. Then you only have one place to look after.
